These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Suntic app ("Suntic", "the app", "we", "us", or "our"), an iOS app for UV-index tracking and guided tanning, developed by Taha Bozdemir ("the developer").
By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Suntic on Apple devices that you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
2. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the app or any part of it, except as permitted by applicable law.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the app.
- Use, copy, or modify our trademarks, logos, or branding in any way.
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair it.
You should also avoid jailbreaking or rooting your device, as doing so may compromise security and cause the app to malfunction. We are not responsible for issues arising from a jailbroken or rooted device.
3. Medical disclaimer: important
Suntic is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.
UV readings, tanning recommendations, session durations, SPF suggestions, vitamin-D estimates, and skin-analysis results are provided as general informational guidance only. They are estimates and may be inaccurate. They are not a guarantee against sunburn, skin damage, or any other condition, and must not be relied upon as a substitute for professional medical or dermatological advice.
The Skin Analysis feature provides a cosmetic appearance reading only. Results are AI-generated estimates produced by automated third-party processing (see Section 4) and may be inaccurate or incomplete. It is not a diagnosis, does not detect skin cancer or any disease, and must not be used for medical purposes. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding your skin, sun sensitivity, vitamin-D needs, or any concern about a mole or skin change.
You are responsible for your own sun exposure. You must monitor your own skin's reaction, adjust your time in the sun based on your individual sensitivity, and use appropriate protective measures (such as sunscreen, clothing, and shade). Overexposure to UV radiation can cause serious harm, including burns, premature aging, and skin cancer.
4. Skin Analysis and AI features
The optional Skin Analysis feature processes a selfie you submit using automated AI services operated by third-party providers (currently OpenRouter routing to a Google Gemini model) to generate a cosmetic appearance reading. By using the feature, you confirm that:
- you are the person in the photo, or you have the right and permission of the person shown to submit it;
- you will not submit photos of others without their consent, images of minors, or any unlawful, infringing, or offensive content; and
- you understand the output is an automated estimate, not professional, medical, or guaranteed advice (see Section 3).
Suntic also offers on-device AI insights and daily-plan suggestions. All AI-generated content is provided for general information only, may contain errors, and must not be solely relied upon. We may apply reasonable limits, safety checks, and anti-abuse measures to AI features and may modify or withdraw them at any time.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Suntic and its developer are not responsible for any sunburn, skin damage, health consequences, or other adverse effects resulting from sun exposure or from your use of the app. The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or accurate.
We are not responsible for loss of functionality where you have no internet connection, where your device battery is depleted, or where third-party services (such as weather or analysis providers) are unavailable.
6. Subscriptions and purchases
Suntic offers an optional paid subscription ("Suntic Pro") and may offer other in-app purchases. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple's terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings.
We reserve the right to change the features offered, introduce new charges, or modify pricing at any time. Where a charge applies, you will be clearly informed before you incur it.
7. Mobile data and charges
If you use the app outside of a Wi-Fi network, your mobile carrier's terms apply, and you are responsible for any data, messaging, or roaming charges you incur, including those arising from features such as weather updates and skin analysis.
8. Data sharing with Apple
Data regarding your usage and in-app purchases may be shared with Apple, for example to process refund requests. Your use of the app is also subject to Apple's applicable terms and policies.
9. Privacy
Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how your information is handled. By using the app, you consent to those practices.
10. Updates, changes, and termination
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue the app (or any of its features) at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any disputes will be subject to the Istanbul Courts and Enforcement Offices (İstanbul Mahkemeleri ve İcra Daireleri), except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence grant you additional rights or require a different forum.
