About Suntic
Suntic is a UV index and sun-safety app for iPhone, built to make the invisible part of a sunny day easy to act on. This page explains who makes it and how we write what you read here.
Who makes Suntic
Suntic is made by Taha Bozdemir, an independent app developer, under Boldbiscuit. It started from a simple frustration: the UV index is the number that actually predicts sunburn, yet most weather apps bury it. Suntic puts it front and centre and turns it into a clear decision, when to head out, how long to stay, and when to find shade.
Where the data comes from
The app reads the real-time UV index for your exact location from Apple Weather (WeatherKit) and updates it through the day, alongside a 10-day forecast. Your skin type and preferences stay on your device; there is no account and no sign-up.
How we write these guides
We are an app team, not a medical authority, and we are honest about that. So every guide here is written in plain English and grounded in the published guidance of the organisations that set the standards for UV and skin health. We do not invent statistics, reviews or ratings, and we never describe tanning as "safe", because no tan is risk-free.
- Sun-safety guidance, not medical advice: UV risk varies by skin type, location and time of day.
- Sourced from recognised authorities and linked so you can read the originals.
- Reviewed and updated as guidance and the app evolve.
